Description | The first part of the article is dealing with iconographic programmes of Baroque monastery libraries and possibilities of their reconstruction and interpretation. The second part is focused on the practical functioning of the library halls in the everyday life of the monastic community. Finally, a question relating to a potential relationship between the book collection and the artistic decoration of the furniture, or with the ceiling painting on the vault of the library, is asked. |
