Description | Non-traditional students represent an important group of university students, and that is why their study engagement may be considered an important factor that affects current university education. This study aims to explore the study engagement and its relationship with other variables in the sample of Czech nontraditional students studying for education degrees. The scales taken over provided us with useful tools used to describe the population of students in tertiary education. Some of these are being used in the Czech environment for the first time. Study engagement is measured using a 9-item scale UWES-S (Schaufeli, Martinez, Pinto, Salanova, & Bakker; 2002). The analyses show that both the overall UWES-S scale and the three subscales correlate with other scales in a clear pattern and have a hight potential to explain various aspects of the course of studies of respective students. |
