Description | The present study deals with Spengler’s crucial work Der Untergang des Abendlandes. Umrisse einer Morphologie der Weltgeschichte (1918, 1922) well-known all over Europe with a special reflection in Russia; it is demonstrated in the context of Czech philosophical thought and its situation in the Central European state of things and the tendencies towards national independence and the influence of the Slavonic idea compared with the conceptions of J. L. Ficher, Lev Borský, the Russian émigré Valery Vilinsky, and the civilizational role of Russia and later the Soviet Russia and the Soviet Union in the eyes of the traditions of the Czech social thought of the interwar period. |
