| Description | The dystopian diptych constituted by two Christian Guay-Poliquin’s novels, Le fil des kilometres (2013) and Le Poids de la neige (2016), features an apocalyptic narrative by highlighting two models: the road novel in the first volume and the novel of the soil in the second. This contrasting arrangement is crossed by four common mythemes: the myths of Labyrinth and of Icarus and the parables of the Prodigal Son and of the Good Samaritan. The analysis focuses on the contribution of those hypotexts to the transformation of dystopian narratives into liberating ones in the sense of the Christian tradition of French-Canadian and Quebec literature. |
