Description | The aim of the intervention was to present the main research directions in the frame project. The subject of the research is the Italian historiography on the medieval South-Caucasian region between the 19th and 20th century. It will focus initially on the 19th century travelers' accounts, then the art-historical publications during the inter-war period and, finally, on the flourishing of the studies in the from the 1960s. A special focus will be put on visual sources and photographs, as well as on the role of the Armenian community in the development of the studies in Italy. |
