Citation
Description Music, as a phenomenon, occurring across all civilizations and cultures, carries with it, with its specific qualities - abstraction, or binding in time (which are unchanging and always present); various testimonies about the nature of perception, and the aesthetic premises, kept for thousands of years. Each musical expression creates its own proportionality of the division of time by individual sound impulses. The listener's consciousness then follows this guidance. The deep probe into the experience of the listening being can thus begin, in research and comparison of different conceptions of musical time across cultures. The paper will focus on the differences in the understanding of musical time in European and non-European contexts, and will try to approach them in an anthropological perspective.
