Description | It can be stated that images can only become presences under certain conditions. These can be derived both from the millennial practice of so-called devotional images and from current research in the field of cognitive sciences. Without the ritual action of the spectator and the opportunity to make eye contact, however, images, albeit a more faithful reality, is a medium with which it is difficult - if not impossible - to establish a relationship. This explains the huge communication problems in the current situation. Of course, the uncomfortable feeling of communication through the screen is exacerbated by other factors - the ability of the screens to disrupt concentration, etc. In our opinion, it is evident that moving displays on screens and displays are by no means able to replace the actual presence. |
