Description The purpose of this article is to consider the implementation of irony in Chekhov's discourse on the example of the story «Late-blooming flowers». The article examines the stereotypical clichés that are ironically rethought in Chekhov's story. The use of diminutives, the repetition of literary clichés, the combination of incompatible concepts, semantic shifts allow the author to show the unsuitability of the previous literature.
