| Description | The lecture dealt with the areal classification of European languages and the concept of Standard Average European (SAE). The primary attention was paid to Greek and its areal features, on the basis of which it is included in the European "Sprachbund". Two individual areal features were diachronically discussed, i.e. dative external possessors and relative clauses. Special attention was paid to their development in medieval Greek and their historical interpretation in the frame of SAE. |
