Description The following article focuses on German language islands in Slovakia. In this case, the main attention is paid to one specific area - the Hauerland. The main aim of this article is to describe the historical evolution of the aforementioned islands and the village of Malinová (Zeche) and its dialect. In this context, the origin and typical characteristics of the local dialect of Zeche will be described.
