Citation
Description Histone acetylation is a process controlled by histone deacetylases (HDAC) and histone acetyltransferases (HAT), and it plays an essential role in the regulation of gene expression. HDACs are a family of enzymes that modulate the acetylation status of histones and non-histone proteins. Inhibitors of HDAC (HDACi), which form a complex with Zn2+ ion in the enzyme active site, are novel antiproliferative agents that induce tumor cell death, differentiation, and/or cell cycle arrest.
