Description | At the break of 1960s a need for a change emerged in Portugal. This need is reflected both in Portuguese society and literature. The energy accumulated over decades of the Estado Novo dictatorship and censorship exploded in a revolutionary discourse of poetic language. The young poets of Poetry 61 and Experimental Poetry bring the new discourse, which undergoes a radical transformation, breaking free from conventional standards. Among the voices of these poets, there is one of the most insurgent of the second half of the 20th century – that of Luiza Neto Jorge. In her poetry, we are often faced with the eroticization and sexualization of the text as such. The Jorgean body is in constant metamorphosis, accumulating the energy that presents itself in various forms. The present study sought to reflect the motifs of the body and eroticism and on the function of these motifs present in the work of Luiza Neto Jorge. |
