Description | Applying the theory of Offensive Realism by John Mearshimer and building on previous research by Emmanuel Karagiannis, the author raises and answers three critical questions about the Georgia's prospects for full NATO membership as o 2020. Doing so, the article adopts three structural causes of the Russo-Georgian August 2008 War identified by Karagiannis and analyses all of them separately with empirical realities in period 2008-2020. The article concludes that Georgia's NATO membership will not be possible without fundamental shift in the regional balance of power. |
