Description | How does the teaching of literature and reading of literary texts improve the written comprehension of FSL students? How can teachers integrate and promote “reading for pleasure” in their FSL classes? These are the questions that guide the present research around the term "reading for pleasure" (finding more explicitly in the Complementary Volume of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (2018)). The term is frequently used by many teachers of foreign languages, but it is neither properly explained nor formally anchored in teachers' guides. Consequently, the objective of this contribution was to analyze and compare some recent research on this topic and its influence on written comprehension in foreign languages, particularly in French. |
