| Description | Swearing is a linguistic phenomenon that stands somewhat on the fringe. The aim of this lecture is to summarize some of the basic problems associated with swearing from the point of view of linguistics, especially pragmatics and lexicology, and to show that a topic that may seem inappropriate for a linguist is, on the contrary, quite crucial. |
