| Description | Pollution of city parks poses a potentially great threat to park visitors. Parks have the potential to capture and store urban pollutants, and therefore risks may increase over the years. A very important aspect in this issue is also the history of parks, which has the potential to clarify a number of partial problems. The historical analysis also represents an attractive and socially desirable view of the city's face. However, the risks posed by pollution can be significantly reduced by proper park management and structure. Monitoring soil, air and vegetation pollution can provide park visitors with evidence to reduce the risk of exposure to hazardous substances and provide authorities with evidence for strategies to increase the environmental quality of parks leading to increased levels of positive ecosystem services provided to the public. The public's perception of city parks represents an important insight into the issue of their benefits for city society. The analysis of the opinions and real experiences of park users has the potential to bring important results for the management of parks and the consequent increase in their quality based on the identified real needs of the society. The results of the sociological survey can therefore be a key basis for the development of strategies to increase the level of city parks by the application guarantor. At the same time, they represent a tool that also evaluates the current work and the situation of the parties in the administration and maintenance of city parks. These results represent a fundamental output of this project for the application guarantor and have the potential for benefit and application in other cities interested in the issue of city parks and the possibility of improving their quality. |
