Description The talk addressed the kinds of challenges the scholars face in dealing with Czech broadside ballads. It did also consider new directions in research, cataloguing and ways of making Czech broadside ballads more accessible to interdisciplinary scholarship. The talk provided an overview of the phenomenon, history, and materiality of Czech broadside ballads. Czech broadside ballads have been revealed to be a unique and local cultural phenomenon. However, they also exhibit many features common to Central-European and Western-European printed ballads. In the second part of the talk, the results of the 5-year interdisciplinary project have been presented.
