| Description | Any social change is characteristic of profound changes in the social norms and cultural patterns by which the life of society is organised. This can bring about anomie. The paper introduces Srole s anomie scale as a means of measuring anomie and shows in the survey data that this methodological tool is also appropriate for Czech society. Next, the distribution of anomie among different social categories (e.g. rural and urban residents, age, class and educational groups, supporters of different political parties) is presented. Finally, the contemporary discussion on the meaning of Srole s index is presented. |
