Description | Using the example of Tobias Seicherl, the popular protagonist of a political satire comic strip in the Viennese pulp paper Das Kleine Blatt, the contribution shows the influence of political developments on the simpler forms. Thus, Herr Seicherl and his Dog moves from a critical – albeit clearly attributable to a political orientation – comic to a mainstream medium. But not only the political, also other contemporary discourses are directly reflected in the comic – such as those concerning automobilisation or international tourism. |
