| Description | The paper is devoted to the analysis of the work I am from the Fiery Village by A. Adamovič, V. Kolesnik, Y. Bryl from the genre point of view. This book is a classic of Belarusian documentary prose, the genre form of which subsequently inspired Nobel laureate Svetlana Aleksievichova to create her own works. The book is characterized by a mosaic-like composition, authenticity and confession, the use of interviews-monologues of people who survived mass executions. We offer the hypothesis that the book I am from the Fiery Village belongs to documentary prose and is a hybrid form, which we define as a novel-reportage. In addition to genre analysis, the paper reflects the complexity of genre classification, the choice of terminology and definitions for analysis. |
