Description Research of a literature reception by a child reader includes a number of methodological approaches that can be used to investigate this phenomenon. Each child requires a specific way of expression that is unique and natural to him. One of the possible research tools in researching the reception of children's reading is inherently a group discussion, offering an open space for expression. This tool brought a lot of important information concretizing the perception and acceptance of a literary work by a child reader. The aim of the contribution is to offer the reader partial results of research into children's reading, based on the research method of group discussion. The research activities are part of the author's dissertation project focused on the identification of a child of younger school age with literary and theatrical work. The paper presents the results of a group discussion from the lessons of reading Lewis Carroll's literary work Through the Looking Glass and what Alice found there, conducted with third-grade elementary school students.
