Description Additive-free 3D reduced graphene oxide (rGO) aerogels are promising candidates for energy storage, fuel cells, photocatalysis, sensing and medical applications etc. [1] The simplest way to prepare the graphene-like rGO is to reduce low-cost graphene oxide (GO). However, the complicated ‘reduction–exfoliation’ of GO become a major bottleneck that restricts the large-scale production of rGO. We present simple, fast, low-cost and chemical-free fabrication of rGO aerogel-like 2D sheets and 3D cakes [2] using an electrical plasma-triggered reductionexfoliation of highly porous GO aerogel-like materials starting at temperatures not higher than 100°C.
