Description | The selected topic will be presented in two aspects. First, we will focus on the evaluation of the current state of research on the Czech reception/reflection of Russian literature. Factually, the topic has been well treated by the collective around M. Zahrádka, but the dictionary prepared by them reflects which authors, when, by whom they were translated. The actual impact of translation and the image of Russian literature in the Czech milieu has been less studied (works by D. Kšicová, M. Hraly). The second part will focus on the evaluation of Czech reflection on Russian literature in the first two decades of the 21st century. It builds on the author's already published partial research in this area. A quantitative and qualitative (content) analysis of Czech published translations of Russian literature (especially contemporary Russian prose) and reviews of these books in Czech cultural periodicals will be conducted. The aim will be to identify the problematic points of such research and to clarify the potential of such research in determining the Czech perception of Russia and its culture. |
