Description The aim of this presentation is to serve as a brief introduction to the main perceptions regarding the refugees’ arrival in Greece, as seen in the Greek Press of the period. In this volatile historical, political and social period of tension, Press is one of the most important tools for highlighting the way refugees settled in Greek cities. The study focuses on the different perceptions regarding the process of refugees’ integration into the Greek society. Moreover, as Press appears to be the most important factor in shaping public opinion for the period under examination, the historical evidence from the relevant newspaper articles allow us to examine the refugee flows in a multifaceted way, as well as to discuss aspects of political and social reality in Greece during the 1920s.In addition, Press articles indicate that the refugee issue proved to be particularly important and was often used in such a way as to influence the contemporary Greek political reality.
