Description The paper focuses on selected symbolism in Old Czech literature, the origin or translation of which dates back to the second half of the 14th century and the first half of the 15th century. More specifically, it deals primarily with colour symbolism in the poem Jižť veselé vzdávám, the symbolism of the colour green and related metaphors in non courteous poems, spiritual marriage in Stratilať jsem milého and the symbolism of the representation of virgins and widows in Hádání Prahy s Kutnou Horou.
