| Description | The paper is devoted to the project of research on historical fabrics, which integrates both the research and research dimension and the practical use in the textile industry and fashion. The field research and research processing also form the basis of a database that makes patterns and their detailed technical descriptions available on a digital platform to all those interested in the subject. The image documentation can be further exploited in various ways. The application of the database in a neural network can generate new visual data with its own quality, as evidenced by the award of the Neon 2022 Prize to the collaborating project of Julia Dítětová. Fabric replicas can expand the offer of restoration workshops. Patterns can be printed on fabrics and applied in contemporary fashion. The database itself, with its sheer volume of data, can significantly improve our understanding of the history of applied art. |
