Description Existing studies on the perception of simulation-based medical education examine a wide range of topics, with correspondingly heterogeneous results. This scoping review aims to assess the scope of these empirical studies including a systematic description of the types and modalities of simulation that are used in simulation-based medical education and the methods used to study the perception of these simulations. Six databases will be searched for the purpose of this review: Scopus, Web of Science, MEDLINE/PubMed, Embase, PsycINFO/PsyARTICLES by EBSCOHost and Education Resources Information Center (ERIC). The data will be reported using quantitative analysis.
