Description This paper studies segmental and suprasegmental errors made by Czech learners of Spanish as a Foreign Language. By contrasting Czech and Spanish from a phonetic and phonological point of view, the paper explores to what extent the mother tongue of the learners interferes in their errors. It also investigates the usefulness of error analysis in the training of Czech teachers of Spanish, given the importance of knowing how to recognize and identify these errors in order to correct them.
