| Description | This paper characterizes collections of applied arts and design in the Moravian Gallery in Brno. The these is divided into two thematic sections. At the beginning there is a brief history of the Moravian Gallery, description of the presentation of the collections and the way in which the collections are cared for, following up is the history of the Moravian Museum of Applied Arts. In the second part of the theses there is a characterization of the collections and their acquisition activities are described. Collection fund is categorized by material into metal, glass, ceramics, wood, paper, textile and a new category of design that links the individual collection departments. |
