Description | The contribution points out several similarities and dissimilarities between the ancient novel and Byzantine romance in the usage of the narrative technique (HP) regarding discourse-pragmatic functions and cognitive roles. Specifically, it elucidates various changes in the use of the diegetic HP in summary narrative, the mimetic HP in scenic narrative and the static HP in pause narrative. |
