| Description | The chapter is focused on the architecture, interior and exterior decorations and function of the Church of the Dormition in Ateni Sioni. The church is dated to the 7th century on the basis of formal similarities with the Church of the Holy Cross (Jvari). In the interior, it contains a rich wall decoration from the 11th century, financed by the Georgian royal Bagration dynasty. |
