Description Black metal's abundant use of dark occult symbolism, pagan and warrior motifs, romanticism focused on the dark sides of nature and man, as well as the burning of churches and the resulting media visibility has made this music scene a familiar space inhabited by discourses and symbols that were and are present also in the various representatives of (mainly dark) esoteric alternative religiosity, and esoteric actors could and can use this reservoir of symbols and practices to promote their own views both inside and outside the scene. This musical trend is currently also reflected in the texts of the Traditionalist and Thelemite Slovak author Sebastián Jahič, who is slowly but surely becoming one of the important voices of the Czech and Slovak esoteric and magical scene. The aim of this paper is to try to summarize the main points of Jahič's thinking about black metal and to place black metal in the wider context of his spiritual and social views rejecting the contemporary liberal society.
