Description | The text Hija del camino by Lucía Mbomio, black Spanish writer, is articulated between fictional details and autobiographical details, presenting places and experiences lived by the author, but narrated in third person and partly fictionalized with the intent of creating an identity referent and telling the story of a social group which does not exist for Spanish society, since it does not have a referent in the mediatic and cultural products. For all these characteristics, the text can be included in the genre of autofiction, connected from its origins to the identity of the author. The aim of this article is to present some theories on the concept of autofiction and its connection with postmodernism, and to use such theories to analyze Hija del camino as an identity quest and an act to revendicate the existence of Spanish black people in Spain. |
