Description | Population migration is a historical and cultural phenomenon that has existed since the dawn of time. Now, relayed by the media, especially in the twenty-first century, mass migrations to and through our old continent have become an object of interest not only for sociologists, political scientists, ethnologists and historians, but also for linguists and literary critics, if only because migrant populations - during their passages outside their original homes - raise various problems and questions that Europeans might not pay attention to if they were not confronted with the arrival of peoples whose existence they sometimes did not even suspect. Thus, since the first decade of the third millennium, the theme of migration has fueled debates and reactions from literary critics, translators, and linguists; even didacticians are now confronted with the problem of learning a foreign language by migrant children as well as by adults. |
