Description Costume, as the dress of a specific group, ethnographic, professional, social or otherwise, is governed by certain rules that are subject to a certain set of rules that are binding on that group. In recent years, there has been an increased interest in traditional clothing, or at least elements of it, which have been adopted, modified and placed in new contexts. This practice provokes contradictory reactions, ranging from enthusiasm for the new collages that are emerging, to indignation from purists, often ethnographers, who consider the practice to be a denigration or outright 'desecration' of the original intentions and functions of costume organisation. Is it possible to create a modern costume without this profanation? The aim of the paper will be to try to explore, on the basis of theoretical foundations (Šmidchens, Moser, etc.), new possible approaches to the creation of contemporary dress following a certain set of norms that characterize today's cultural paradigm and are not just poor copies of older canons.
