Description | In the two sister encyclopaedias (Erlangen, Universitätsbibliothek MS. B 200 and Krakau, Biblioteka Jagiellońska, Rkp.Przyb.35/64), among many other different topics, instructions on fencing and wrestling have been preserved. This paper aims to clarify the origins of these instructions, but above all to present them in the context of the not very well-known literary genre to which they belong, viz. in the context of the so-called Fight Books. |
