| Description | The book consists of research of three non-Catholic churches and their attitudes to the Bohemian Reformation in the times of the First Czechoslovak Republic by means of researching their magazines. Due to the ethos of the first years of Czechoslovakia which were strongly connected to the legacy of the Bohemian Reformation, for the non-Catholic churches it was very important to show their own connection to the reformation and demonstrate their patriotism. The three churches being compared are the Czechoslovak Church, the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren, and the Unity of Czech Brethren in the years 1918-1928. The comparison is divided into three main sections, including their attitudes to the Church history, especially to the Bohemian reformation, and to their social context in Czechoslovakia. Last section deals with specific changes which happened in the churches’ attitudes to the Church history and to their social context during the decade 1918-1928. |
