Description | The paper discusses two documents relating to the Znojmo hospital of St. Elizabeth. The first of them dates from 1388–1397. In it, Olomouc Vicar General and official John from Ghulen calls on the faithful to donate alms to the Znojmo hospital. The second of the documents dates back to 1434. In it, the Znojmo city council undertakes to pay the poor and the chaplain in the Znojmo hospital the annual salary that the nobleman Jan z Meziříčí procured for them. At the same time, Jan of Meziříčí also made donations to hospitals in the Catholic towns of Jemnice and Jihlava. During this time, he is listed among the Hussites. |
