Description | Mediation, introduced into foreign language teaching by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment (2001), has been redefined and described in more details, including examples of new scales and descriptors to assess mediation skills in the Common Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment. Companion Volume (2020). This new view of mediation, which connects reception, production and interaction, is already appearing in textbooks for teaching French for professional purposes that have appeared on the market in the last two years. In this paper, we will underline mediation activities and strategies that are useful in the context of professional communication and that correspond to new trends in foreign language didactics. |
