Description Symphytum tuberosum subsp. angustifolium is a geophyte with Pannonian-Carpathian distribution. It inhabits mesophilous forests and their fringes and mesophilous grasslands. It is newly reported at an isolated site in the Litomyšl Region (Eastern Bohemia, Czech Republic). The population covers about 100 m2 in a deciduous forest dominated by Fraxinus excelsior. The nativity status of the population is discussed. Due to isolated character of the site, co-occurrence of alien plant species, and anthropic disturbances of the site in the past, the new population is more likely of anthropogenic origin.
