Description In the present contribution lexemes from the Slavic and Semitic lexical components are analyzed from the point of view of their adaptation and incorporation into the language's orthographical, phonological and grammatical system. Upon introducing examples of basic adaptation strategies found in the pool of these loanwords across inflected word classes and pointing out the dichotomies both between and within adaptation of these two components, the author presents his ideas and proposes possible explanations on why certain strategy might be favored over the others in certain cases and vice versa.
