Description In the middle of the 13th century, the Mongol Empire reached the borders of today's Europe. For both Christians and Muslims, who had long-standing disputes in the Holy Land, the Mongols were at first a threat, but later a valuable potential ally - which is why they began sending diplomatic and religious missions to Asia. How did the Mongol khans view the gifts of European rulers? And why did some Christians refuse to drink mare's milk? Which religion eventually prevailed among the Mongols? This time, the guest of art historian Ivan Foletti and archaeologist Jiří Macháček was Dr. Jana Valtrová from the Institute of Religious Studies at the Faculty of Arts of Masaryk University.
