You will find the answers for questions such as why do we have majuscule and minuscule letters, or what changes in style our script went through during its long evolution. You are going to get familiar with the alphabets of the most important scripts for the study of written sources (mostly carolingian and gothic minuscule) and you are also going to read several authentic historical sources from medieval period. There is a practical parts as well, you will be able to try practical writing of old written sources with the most frequent types of script - carolingian and gothic minuscule. |
