Description The paper describes quantitative thermal energy experiments that can be carried out with the usual household equipment: kitchen scales, stopwatches and a kettle. The article comments on the conditions under which it is possible to achieve the best results and the smallest deviation from the table values. The text is supplemented with an analysis of the uncertainty of measuring the capacity of the calorimeter by the mixing method, from which it follows that in domestic conditions it makes no sense to attempt this measurement at all.
