| Description | This short report discusses the nicknames of a new sculpture installed in Brno to commemorate the anniversary of Johann Gregor Mendel's birth, which is intended to reflect Mendel's genetic experiments with the pea. In addition to the official name (Hrachovina from hrách "pea"), various unofficial names and nicknames quickly appeared in the public space - Lysohlávky (Magic Mushrooms), Trifidi (Triffids), Jmelí (Mistletoe) etc. |
