Description The daffodil, hyacinth, crocus and many other well-known and popular flowers have their irreplaceable place in ancient mythology. All the botanical names of the plants mentioned refer to mythical figures who, under various circumstances, turned into flowers and thus gave them their names, as the Roman poet Publius Ovidius Naso, in his work The Metamorphoses, engagingly describes.
