Description | One of the peculiarities of psychosomatic disciplines is that they are not focused on performance and on an obvious, immediately perceptible result. We cannot acquire certain hard or soft skills in them. Yet the changes they induce are noticeable, especially after a long period of time, often when time is gained. This paper will introduce the concept of brain neuroplasticity (its functional and structural changes) as explored by contemporary neuroscience, and then relate it to the experience of studying psychosomatic disciplines. Attention will also be paid to the changes associated with short-term activities, such as workshops and seminars, and long-term activities with a time horizon of several years, as represented by the study disciplines at Department of Authorial Creativity and Pedagogy, The Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague . |
