| Description | The presentation is focused on issues of conceptualisation of monograph of director, which is one of the key subgenres of theatre studies. Its importance is connected evidently with position of theatre director in Czech theatre culture. The presentation critically reviewed main issues as they are established in Czech tradition: relation of director to other co-creators, relation to production background, issue of development of elements of theatre expression and their internal relations. The most essential is finally question only seemingly psychological: how we conceptualise personality of artistic subject of director? Presentation provided reflection of actual methods and proposed approachs of historian Michael Baxandal, especially his concept of "brief" as possible solution. |
