| Description | The chapter focuses on Jaroslav Novotný's career and his activities in the field of school cinema in 1935–1946. It analyses the decisions made by Novotný to reaching a stable development of this area in Zlín and Czechoslovakia, respectively, across several political regimes. Correspondingly, the paper sheds light on the role of Novotný's network of his personal formal as well as informal contacts. Special attention is paid to Novotný's connection to the Czechoslovak Red Cross organization and to mutual benefits obtained by both sides from their relationship, especially during the World War II. |
