| Description | The Baroque historiography of the Cistercian monastery in Osek deduced the foundation of the monastery from the figure of the supposed founder Jan Milhost and the charter issued by him, in which the interpolations of the Osek historian Anton Edelmann from the end of the 17th century were revealed by diplomatic and palaeographic analysis. The article traces the development of the textual tradition of the charter as well as the influence of the interpolated version of the charter on the historical memory of the monastery, which is also reflected in the artistic decoration of the monastery. |
